For 2014 our Axis combines the trail crushing dominance of the 29" wheel with the agility of the 26" wheel; bring on the 27.5. Why 27.5" Wheelset? While this is an ongoing debate there are notable benefits to the 27.5" wheel that continue to contribute to its growing popularity. Lower rolling resistance and better traction giving you a smoother ride similar to that of the 29", but with less geometry and suspension travel limitations, or toe clearance concerns. In the end you have a smoother ride than a 26" wheel and greater torsional stiffness and durability than a 29" wheel. At the core of our new Axis 27.5 series is the Diamondback Axis 27" Butted 6061-T6 aluminum frame with formed top and down tubes, machined headtube and forged drop outs with replaceable hanger. The components provide more proof of our commitment to providing you with the most appropriate package and value for your money. An SR Suntour XCT 27.5 with 80mm of travel soaks up bumps. The Tektro IO Plus mechanical disc brakes make stopping a breeze and the Kenda Slant Six 27.5 x 2.1 tires keep you rolling down the trail.
